We divided our food up into day-bundles (this is some of them). That way, each night we could open a new bundle and be done with it the next morning (putting the lunch into a small stuff sack for later in the day). We tried to be so organized about it, but the problem was that the climb just went on and on... and on. So, our food for 30 days ended up having to stretch for 39 days. Worse, we hadn't realized HOW much energy we would be burning, so our "generous" 2500 calorie per day idea quickly bit the dust! We weren't even halfway up the slab before we were rationing to stretch our available meals. The last week of the climb we were down to 600 calories per day. We each lost about 20 pounds during the ascent (going from about 160 each to about 140).
