Green slime in the foreground. Notice how Mark is dressed (in early July!). It was really cold for most of our ascent. Mark had to clean this pitch at night, at about 1am in the morning. Upon reaching the top of the slab, we jettisoned our porta-ledges and lightened our load as much as possible. Thus, we abandoned the porta-siege tactic and began the more traditional method of "lead, haul, and clean" each pitch. Mark had to wallow in the green slime all the way across this pitch to clean it at night, his face pressed into the wall to peer up into the depths of the crack. He arrived at our anchor at about 3am, soaking wet and not a happy (wall) camper.
