Business --  As a philosopher, I am uniquely trained to see the "big picture" and the minute details, as well as the implications the details have for the "big picture." After the review and analysis phase, I provide a carefully written report of the alternatives and my recommendations. Academic -- I have many years of experience in academia. I know the "game," from student relations to recruiting issues to interdepartmental politics to administrative concerns. At Walla Walla College I served on the Master Planning Committee and the Ethics Committee for years. I can provide your school with exceptional analysis and advice on a wide range of concerns.  I will review and analyze whatever the situation is and then produce a carefully detailed written report. Computer -- With literally decades of experience, and having done everything from programming to networking to computer building and maintenance, you will find me more than merely competent to assess your needs and supply a timely and effective solution.  I am well qualified on both Windows and LAMP platforms, and I can code in C, C++, VB6, PHP, and Assembly languages.  I have designed and produced everything from small utilities to enterprise-level applications, and I know how to document! I am most effective as a project manager; I have the resources to assemble and manage a team for large and complicated projects.

Personal -- We often feel the need to bounce things off of another person, yet we realize that most people we know really aren't qualified to give us very objective or expert advice. Usually we settle for these "amateur consultations," and that works well enough for most situations. However, there are certainly times when we want better advice than that! With more at stake, getting some genuine objectivity and an assessment of your options can be well worth the cost. I can handle most personal consultations over the phone and send you an invoice later.  I guarantee that you will agree that the cost was well worth it.  

Rates -- My base rate for all consultations is $60 per hour.  Emergency and "extended-hour" rates are higher and can be discussed in advance. I find every consulting engagement a personal learning experience, and you can be assured that I will not bill you for what I consider learning-overhead on my part. I have never gotten a complaint about the fee I have charged on an invoice. You will find me enthusiastic, totally engaged in your situation, and entirely fair in my billings.
